The multi-hazard coupling effect of earthquakes and rainfall is one of the common triggers of major natural disasters such as landslides, debris flows, dam breaks, dyke breaches and collapses. As an important research method in geotechnical engineering, centrifuge model tests can effectively reproduce the stress state and failure process of soils and geotechnical structures.
The multi-hazard coupling model box for hypergravity tests is a special carrier used to hold centrifuge test models, and integrates supporting measuring instruments (pore water pressure gauges, earth pressure gauges, displacement transducers) and auxiliary devices such as cameras for centrifuge tests.
To meet the practical requirements of hypergravity model tests, the Rigid Container‑II multi-hazard coupling model box for hypergravity tests has been specially designed. The model box adopts a prefabricated structural design, featuring large internal volume, light overall weight and high structural strength. The left wall of the box is equipped with a transparent observation window, the right side is provided with fixed supports for sensors and the camera system, quick drainage holes are reserved on the side, and a large-volume water reservoir is installed at the bottom. It can fully meet the requirements of various geotechnical tests, including dam and reservoir models, slopes and retaining walls, underground structures, etc.
Typical features
Assembled structure, made of special aviation aluminum alloy material.
Large internal space size: ≥1.0m*0.4m*1.0m or ≥0.6m*0.5m*1.35m, with a mass of ≤500kg.
Can be used in conjunction with the hyper gravity rainfall system for tests and realize the function of rapid rainwater drainage.
The light transmittance of the transparent observation window is ≥90%, and the area is ≥70%.
Can be used with high-speed cameras to observe soil settlement displacement and deformation under multi-hazard coupling.
Resistant to high centrifugal force and strong vibration impact interference.
Has good waterproof performance, with a pressure bearing capacity of ≥500kPa.
Typical applications
Coupled centrifugal test of rainfall and earthquake.
Centrifugal test of slope, embankment / dam / weir, retaining wall, underground structure, underground pipe gallery, tailings dam, etc.
