System Description
The Constant Strain Rate Consolidation Testing System is a high-efficiency experimental instrument for determining the one-dimensional consolidation properties of soils. Breaking through the limitations of the conventional incremental loading consolidation test method, it applies axial stress to soil specimens through continuous loading at a constant axial strain rate, greatly improving test efficiency.
The system consists of core components including a pressure chamber, specimen assembly, axial loading device, high-precision sensors, volume and pressure controller, data acquisition and control system, and computer control terminal. It enables precise control of strain rate and real-time monitoring of key parameters during soil consolidation, such as stress-strain relationship and pore water pressure variation.
Unlike traditional consolidometers that apply loads in stages, this system rapidly obtains soil parameters including compression index and consolidation coefficient through continuous loading. It not only shortens test duration but also more accurately reflects the continuous deformation behavior of soils in practical engineering. It is especially suitable for studying the consolidation characteristics of fine-grained soils such as soft clay and silt, providing more reliable experimental data support for geotechnical engineering design.
